Booking changes and saved views
Use the booking detail page to change an existing rental without losing sight of availability, price or the customer promise. Use saved views on Bookings to return to the same operational filters later.
Review a booking change
Section titled “Review a booking change”- Open the booking that needs to change.
- Edit the dates, selected dates, quantity, variant, delivery method, pickup or return time, or add-ons.
- Select Review changes.
- Compare the original and proposed booking and confirm that the new request has capacity.
- Review the recalculated total and the amount to collect, refund or credit.
- Confirm that you reviewed the payment adjustment, then apply the change.
Do not edit only the Shopify order and assume the rental record changed. Rentshelf availability and operational details must be updated through the booking workflow.
Payment adjustment
Section titled “Payment adjustment”A booking amendment records its financial difference separately from the original remaining balance. A positive amount is additional collection to arrange; a negative amount is a refund or credit to arrange.
Record an adjustment as settled only after the payment or refund has actually been handled. The label is an operational record, not proof that money moved through Shopify or another payment provider.
Use the notification action when the customer should receive the revised rental details.
Agreements after a change
Section titled “Agreements after a change”Material changes can make a signed agreement stale. Dates, quantity, customer identity, price and a new amendment can require a new document and signature. Rentshelf preserves the previous signed version in history.
See Rental agreements for the complete signing workflow.
Save a booking view
Section titled “Save a booking view”- Filter Bookings by status, date scope, product, location, future-only or search text.
- Open Save view and give the filter combination a clear operational name.
- Select the saved view later to restore its filters.
- Update, rename or delete a view when the workflow changes.
Deleting a saved view never deletes the bookings that matched it. CSV export uses the active booking filters, so choose the correct view before exporting a handover file.
