Shopify variant price per rental

Shopify variant price (per rental) is an opt-in pricing mode in a rental product’s Pricing settings. Use it when each Shopify variant has its own rental amount, such as item condition or wear history. The selected variant’s current Shopify price becomes the rental amount; it is not a daily rate.

  1. Set the price for each variant in Shopify and confirm that the variants belong to the linked product.
  2. Open that product in Rentshelf and choose Shopify variant price (per rental) as its pricing mode.
  3. Save and test each variant in the storefront picker. Confirm the displayed amount and available units for each selection.
  4. Check the cart and checkout totals on your theme before taking a live order.

For a fixed-duration rental, the variant price is used for the selected rental package. Duration, deposit, availability and variant stock settings still apply. A variant with zero rentable capacity remains unavailable even when it has a price. Switching variants should refresh the displayed rental quote.

This mode reads the current Shopify variant price rather than changing Shopify’s configured variant prices. Existing per-day, fixed and tiered pricing modes continue to use their own rules. Choose one mode that matches the merchant’s actual price promise; do not combine a product-level fixed amount and variant-based amounts without testing the resulting cart total.
