Guided storefront test
The Get your first rental ready card on the Rentshelf dashboard helps you check a real product in your own store. It records four separate signals: the rental calendar loaded, dates and a price were calculated, rental details reached the cart, and an order created a Rentshelf booking.
Start a test
Section titled “Start a test”- Link and activate a Shopify product in Rentshelf → Products. Set its rental price and availability.
- On the dashboard, review Storefront connection. Enable the Rentshelf app embed and add the rental calendar block to the relevant published product template if either check needs attention. Save the theme, then choose Recheck theme.
- Under Get your first rental ready, select the product and choose Use this product or Start a fresh test.
- Choose Open guided storefront test. This opens the selected product on your real storefront. Pick available dates, review the quote and add the product to the cart.
- Return to the dashboard and choose Refresh test results. Review each signal separately. If you place a test order, open the resulting booking and compare its product, dates and units with the order.
The guided link expires after one hour. Start a fresh test if it has expired. The link is a diagnostic aid: it does not change payment settings or make checkout free. Only place a test order on a store already configured for Shopify test payments, or use your normal payment process intentionally.
Interpret the result

A green result for one step does not prove the later steps. A manual booking, a sample-store booking or an order outside the current guided link does not complete this storefront test. Check the actual Shopify order and Rentshelf booking before declaring the customer path ready.
