Zoom for virtual appointments
Zoom is a Growth connection for virtual appointments. It requires a configured Zoom integration and an authorized Zoom account. If Settings → Zoom says setup is unavailable or credentials are not configured, contact Rentshelf support. The presence of this guide does not mean Zoom connection is enabled for every store.
Before connecting
Section titled “Before connecting”Set up and test an appointment time-slot product first. In-person appointments and physical rentals do not create Zoom meetings. Zoom meetings do not block rental availability or manage host conflicts; review those settings in your Zoom account.
When Zoom setup is available to your store:
- Open Rentshelf → Settings → Zoom and select Connect Zoom.
- Authorize the Zoom account that will host the appointments.
- Open the timed appointment product and enable Create a Zoom meeting for this virtual appointment.
- Confirm a test appointment and check the booking, customer link and Zoom account before inviting real customers.
Rentshelf creates a meeting after the appointment is confirmed, updates it when the appointment time changes and removes it after cancellation. The customer join link appears in the booking and customer portal once created. If Zoom is temporarily unavailable, the appointment remains booked and Rentshelf retries synchronization; check connection health or use Sync now.
Disconnecting attempts to remove managed meetings before clearing the connection. If removal fails, the connection remains available for a retry. Zoom account limits, passcodes and host scheduling still apply.
