Klaviyo rental events

Klaviyo is included in Growth. Rentshelf sends one-way rental events to Klaviyo; changes to a Klaviyo profile or flow do not edit bookings in Rentshelf.

  1. In Klaviyo, create a private API key with Events: Write access. A public site ID will not work.
  2. Open Rentshelf → Settings → Klaviyo, paste the private key and select Connect Klaviyo.
  3. Rentshelf verifies the key, encrypts it for storage and prepares the rental metrics. The full key is not displayed again.
  4. Review connection status and Delivery health. Use Sync now if you need to request an immediate retry.

If secure key storage is not configured for your store environment, the page will say so; contact support before attempting to connect.

Available events cover booking placed, booking rescheduled, booking cancelled, pickup reminder due, return reminder due, rental started, and rental returned. Events include booking and order references, product and variant, quantity, dates, totals and a customer booking-management link where applicable. Stable event IDs prevent automatic retries from triggering a second copy of the same logical event.

Build each Klaviyo flow in Draft. Check its sender, message classification, consent, links, variables and a test booking before making it Live. Rentshelf’s own reminder emails stay enabled after connection. Once the matching Klaviyo flow is tested and Live, disable only the Rentshelf email it replaces so customers do not receive two reminders.

Temporary delivery failures retry automatically. A revoked or invalid key requires reconnection. Disconnecting stops future events but does not remove existing profiles, metrics, messages or flows from Klaviyo.
