Rental settings
Per-product rental settings live on the Product detail screen (Rentshelf → Products → [your product]).
Most of this page is covered in the Quickstart step Configure a rental product. Here’s the reference.
Status
Section titled “Status”- Active — the product accepts new bookings on the storefront.
- Paused — the product is still linked but bookings are disabled. Useful for seasonal inventory.
Pricing
Section titled “Pricing”See Rental duration options for the full comparison of modes.
- Price per day — Applied to the rental total as
price × days × units. - Writing the per-day price here syncs all Shopify variant prices to the same value. This is intentional — it keeps Shopify’s native line total consistent with the rental total when quantity is set to the number of days.
Tiered
Section titled “Tiered”- Add rows with
DaysandPricecolumns, plus an optional label (e.g. “Weekend package”). - Tiers can overlap naturally — the app picks the best match for the requested duration (see tier matching logic).
- Fixed price — one flat amount regardless of duration.
Duration
Section titled “Duration”- Min days / Max days — the bounds inside which a customer can book.
- Buffer days before / after — gap required between this rental and the previous / next one.
Inventory
Section titled “Inventory”- Total units — how many copies of this product can be rented concurrently. See Configure a rental product.
Deposit
Section titled “Deposit”- Deposit percent (0–100) — % of rental total charged as deposit.
- Deposit fixed — flat amount. Overrides percent if greater than 0.
Customer inputs
Section titled “Customer inputs”- Require file upload — forces a document upload (e.g. driving licence). Stored against the booking.
- Notes label — if set, shows a notes field on the picker (“Anything we should know?”).
Unlink
Section titled “Unlink”Removes the product from Rentshelf. The Shopify product stays, the rental config is deleted. Existing bookings for this product remain in the system for reporting.
