Rental availability search
Rental availability search is off by default. It helps shoppers find eligible rental products for a chosen date window and quantity. They still finish options and checkout on the product page, where availability is checked again.
Enable the store search
Section titled “Enable the store search”- Open Rentshelf → Settings → Rental availability search.
- Turn on Enable date-based catalog search and save.
- Open each rental product that should appear in search and enable its Include in rental search option.
- Add a store menu link to
/apps/rental/search, or add the Rental search app block to a page in your Shopify theme editor. - Use Preview rental search from Settings and test an available and an unavailable date window.
Enabling the store setting does not automatically add navigation or include every rental product. Only active products selected for search appear. Product availability, pricing and final options remain controlled by their individual rental settings.
What the results mean
Section titled “What the results mean”The search checks the requested dates and quantity before showing matching products. A result is a starting point, not a stock reservation or guaranteed checkout. The customer must open the product, choose any required variant, delivery method or add-ons, and complete the normal rental flow. Rentshelf validates the final selection again before checkout.
If no results appear, confirm the store switch is on, the product is active and included, and the requested window is not blocked by existing bookings, blackout dates or stock limits.
